Welcome to Kids4Kures!

Hi. Welcome to my new Kids4Kures blog!

My name is Emily Flachman. I'm a fifth grader at Charles E. Teach Elementary School in San Luis Obispo, California. Each student in my class was challenged to create their own Community Action Project that would better our community as well as the world around us. My idea was to develop a program that would help people who have cancer. My grandmother had cancer and I know she would have been very proud of my choice of project.

I hope to achieve my project goal through fundraising for cancer charities by creating a gift set of cool greeting cards to sell. The cards will have beautiful illustrations that were hand-drawn by my very special friend, Peaches Olson, who is a great artist. She has been affected with cancer in her own life so she holds my project close to her heart too. I will donate the profits from the sale of my cards to support local non-profit cancer charities.

My program is called Kids4Kures. I thought, hey, I'm just a 10 year old kid, but I believe I can really do this. Kids4Kures just made perfect sense to me. I think kids my age can make a difference in the world. We can all work hard together to help find a cure, and hopefully soon!

Thanks for visiting my new blog. I am also learning more about the Internet, charities and business with my project! Please visit my website that will be completed in the next few weeks at Kids4Kures.com. Keep watching my blog for more information on my cards that will be coming soon around town. The cards will be sold in gift packs with envelopes. I am including a free bookmark with each set that will have my Kids4Kures message for you to share.

So please help support my project, my cause and my dream. Help make a difference with me by buying Kids4Kures cards. You'll really love them, and so will those who get your gift. Remember, Kids can Kure with your help!

Sincerely,

Emily Flachman
